La Santa
A rosé born by chance, but not by accident
During the 2022 harvest, Nicoletta, who is as much a staple in the winery as the barrels, set aside 500 liters of the Sangiovese destined to become The Presumptuous. She moved it to a small concrete tank, without telling anyone, and made her rosé with it.
When we discovered the “secret project”, it was clear that such a wine could only be called La Santa. Dedicated to those who put up with The Irous, The Presumptuous and all the rest of the family every day.
It is a rosé from Sangiovese in purity, vinified with the “salasso” technique: a few hours of maceration, slow fermentation, cement tank. In the glass it is cherry pink, with a delicate bouquet and clean freshness. Versatile, sincere, suitable for every table, but never banal.
